An event every week that begins at 7:30 pm on Monday, repeating until September 28, 2020
COVID Ag Updates from ISU Extension and Outreach and COVID Recovery Iowa begin Aug. 3
Free virtual weekly sessions are open to all farmers and ag industry members
AMES, Iowa – COVID Recovery Iowa, in collaboration with Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach, will host COVID Ag Updates: Focus on Resilience, a 60-minute weekly update with agricultural specialists, to be held Mondays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 3.
The farming community is used to the stress that comes from the unpredictable and uncontrollable challenges that jeopardize their production and livelihood. Agricultural resilience is about equipping farmers with strategies and information that will enable them to absorb and recover from these stresses.
The first 15 to 20 minutes of each Monday session will be informational, with the remaining time spent on answering questions from the virtual participants. The updates will begin Monday, Aug. 3 with Dr. Chad Hart, Professor, ISU Department of Economics and ISU Extension and Outreach Grain Markets Specialist.
To register to participate in the virtual sessions, go to the ‘upcoming events’ section at https://www.extension.iastate.edu/humansciences/farm-ranch-wellbeing. After registering, a Zoom program link will be e-mailed to participants prior to the program.
